Are you a TikTok content creator and want to know how to fix TikTok not letting you like? Then you are not alone?
This difficulty is often experienced by many TikTok users and can be fixed if you follow some necessary steps.
In this guide, I will explore why this situation might occur and some actionable steps to take to fix this. Now let's get into it without wasting much time.
What causes TikTok to stop you from liking videos
There are several reasons why TikTok could not allow you to like videos. Thus, the current needs to be determined as the exact cause.
TikTok might not allow you to like videos for a few reasons. One of the reasons is that the app doesn't want you to because you need to tap the like button too fast. For TikTok, this means your account is engaging in suspicious activity, which is directly assumed that you are a bot or fake account.
The app will assume you're a robot if you like too many videos quickly. This refers to the fact that the app will believe you are using software to like as many videos as possible.
Such behavior is only possible when using the software. TikTok will assume you are not a human if it detects that your like activity is occurring more quickly than normal.
TikTok may temporarily or permanently block you from liking content if it determines that you are not acting humanely.
Your ability to like content on TikTok may also be limited by internet connectivity or account issues. Before continuing, you should check your internet connection.
Since you can only like with an online connection, the app won't be able to process your like if it has a poor internet connection. You cannot post on TikTok for the same reason.
You are tapping too fast, taking a break, and preventing it.
When you reach TikTok's like cap, the "you're tapping too fast, take a break" error appears. There is limit on how much you can like TikTok since they don't want bots on their app.
You are more likely to see this error if your account is newer since TikTok has yet to establish trust with it.
You will be banned from engaging in this behavior if you register a new account and repeatedly like videos without actually watching them.
For several reasons, like posting and commenting excessively, newer accounts are typically banned. So keep in mind that you should take extra care to prevent the You're Tapping Too Fast message if you're using a new account.
Because there are a lot of new fake accounts created on the app every day to build new accounts with likes, TikTok implemented the Tapping Too Fast error. Spam and bot detection is the only way they can identify this.
Keep in mind that you may see the You're Tapping Too Fast error if you don't view videos for their whole duration.
How long does this issue last?
The error is not for a specified period of time for an account; instead, it may persist for how long your account has been made. The ban will stay longer if you've previously received the You're Tapping Too Fast error.
The ban should only be in effect for 24 hours. If it takes more than 24 hours, you're most likely using a new account. It would be a lot shorter if you were using an old account.
Waiting for the ban to be lifted is the most popular method for getting back to liking TikTok videos. It won't matter if you can't stand anything because it will only last a little while.
If you're lucky, the ban could only be in effect for a short while, so give up trying to like videos for a while. You should also avoid like when you're being banned because it can shorten it.
Do not panic; keep in mind that this ban is just temporary. We'll discuss some other reasons why you might not be able to like them below.
How to fix TikTok Not letting you like
The best and most recommended solution to this problem is to wait until TikTok allows you to start liking again if it is coming from their end, which in most cases, it is.
However, there are other ways to fix this issue if waiting does not work or is long for some good TikTok lovers; below are some of the important and possible ways you have this set once and for all.
1. Clear Cache
The first steps to take to fix this issue is to, first of all, clear your cache.
The app runs much more smoothly when the cache is cleared because it removes some of the older information that was previously kept on TikTok. This might help you since it will get rid of any software that stops you from enjoying it.
Any outdated data that has been kept in your account's cache memory will prevent any new entries from being processed since it cannot carry out the task you have asked it to. It won't be able to like any recent posts you ask it to in this situation.
Clearing the cache can be done from your phone's settings or your Tiktok application. The process is slightly different on iOS and Android, but they are the same.
Below is a detailed step-by-step process on how to do it.
Directly from your phone
Step 1: Open your settings application of your phone and go to apps
Step 2: Tap on TikTok
Step 3: Tap on Storage>>Clear Cache. And voila, you have cleared the cache.
Check if the issue has been resolved.
From the TikTok app
You can also do it from the TikTok application itself. Details below;
Step 1: Open the app. Go to your profile.
Step 2: Tap on the three-line icon
Step 3: Tap on clear cache, and it'll be deleted.
2. Wait for 24 hours to 72 hours at most.
As the most recommended Option, I decided to include it. As said earlier, this is a very important step to take to ensure that TikTok is not the cause of your issue. After this period, you can proceed to other methods to resolve the situation.
Only Like a Video if You Like it.
On TikTok, a lot of users often only like videos for the sake of liking them. You might or may not be unable to enjoy videos on TikTok.
You should stop watching videos only to enjoy them if you're one of those people. I'll confess that I'm partly at fault for this. I occasionally enjoy videos out of habit or because I wish to revisit them in the future.
When going back to a video on TikTok, you should definitely save it rather than just like it because that is what the save feature is for. Just remember to like videos you actually enjoy.
You should use the app like an average person. Take your time while liking videos; avoid being spammy about it.
You will encounter other problems, such as following too fast or commenting too quickly if you follow, like, or comment too quickly.
Always Watch the Whole Video Before Liking
We now know that you can't like anything on TikTok on either your computer or smartphone because TikTok banned you from liking videos because it believed you were a bot.
Watching the entire video before like it is one technique to avoid TikTok preventing you from doing so. This is due to the fact that seeing the entire video will make it seem less suspicious to them.
Since bots typically just like videos without even watching them, no one will mistake you for a bot when you take your time to watch a video before liking it.
So, before you "like" a video, consider it. If you have yet to see it through, it is in your best interest to dislike the video. You can save a video instead of like it if you need more energy to watch the entire thing.
To prevent the problem from occurring again, you should put up with it and watch the entire video, even if it is only around three minutes long.
If you won't watch the entire video, swipe through it and move on to the next.
3. Check Your Internet Connection
If wifi was enabled when you tried to like videos, consider using your cellular connection instead. Ensure that wifi has been switched off first. To activate mobile/cellular data. Turn on mobile data by tapping on your iPhone's settings and tapping on that Option.
Check it out once more to see if it works.
Turn off your cellular data if it was active when you tried to like a TikTok video and turn on wifi in its place. If you are at home, check your router as well. After turning it off, wait for around 30 seconds before turning it back on.
4. Reset Network Settings
Your network settings include all of your device's settings that have to do with networks. As a result, it may be your wifi or internet connection, among other things.
After checking your internet connection, if TikTok still won't allow you like anything, you might need to reset your network settings.
You may do this on any smartphone you're using by activating Airplane Mode. This is a simple fix for any problems. Swiping down on an iPhone or accessing Settings on an Android device will allow you to accomplish this.
Just do this if your internet connection is down; keep this in mind.
If you have access to the router and are using wifi, try shutting it off for a while before turning it back on. If you use TikTok on a PC, you must take this action.
Remember that a touch screen on a mobile device is typically more sensitive, so if you're using TikTok on a laptop and can't like anything, tap the like button more firmly.
If none of these solutions work, you should access settings and correctly reset your network settings. On your iPhone, open Settings, scroll down to General and follow the instructions. Tap Reset Network Settings after selecting Reset.
5. Update the TikTok App
There may be a software problem affecting TikTok. Deleting the app could assist in preventing this from occurring.
Also, update it if there is a recent TikTok update available. You may not be able to like videos due to software difficulties. Thus, it is in your best interest to upgrade the app.
You should update the software by going to the App Store on your device. The developers would have fixed any earlier problems with the software.
After deleting and downloading the program again, you should notice that your issue has been resolved. If not, the situation could be more difficult than you might assume.
The cache is cleared when the program is deleted; thus, if this were the issue, it would be resolved as well. If you want to accomplish that, scroll ahead since I have taught you how to do it.
You must maintain pressure on an app until you see the other applications shaking before you can uninstall it. When a pop-up appears, hit the cross on the TikTok app. Now press delete to remove it.
6. Delete your TikTok and install it again.
Another actionable step that can be taken is to delete and install the TikTok application on your mobile phone. Doing this can resolve the situation. Kindly follow the delete process for the platform, either iOS or Android.
7. Report the Problem to the TikTok support team
Hopefully, you've found a solution and can enjoy any video, be it a story or a video.
As a last option, I would report these concerns to TikTok in the few cases when you are still unable to like anything.
Here, you may inform them about the issue and, ideally, help them find a solution. On the app, go to your profile settings, select Help, then press Report A Problem to accomplish this.
If you like a TikTok video, take a screenshot of anything that appears. Find the pertinent article.
The only drawback is that TikTok could not reply to your report for up to a week. This is because they receive so many reports each day that they must sort through each one before they reach yours.
To assist speed up the process, I suggest going right to the point in your report. Although it may be obvious that there is a problem with your account, doing this is just a final resort.
8. Create another account (last Option)
While this is the last resort for us, it can also solve the problem either temporarily or permanently.
If you cannot like any videos on your TikTok account, create a new account to begin enjoying videos.
You must decide whether a day is too lengthy for you even though the You're Tapping Too Fast error only lasts for a day.
You can enjoy videos on your second account if you have one because the ban is likely not to affect it. If you don't already have an account, you can create one now.
You must open the app and navigate to your profile to create a new TikTok account. You should click the gear icon from here to access all of your settings.
Scroll down and select "switch accounts" from here. You should select "add new account" from here.
After clicking on it, you should choose a different sign-up option. You might do that either by phone or by email. After making your selection, you must choose a password to use.

Final Thoughts
TikTok is not letting you like because your activities on the application are suspicious, meaning you might just be liking videos and interacting with lots of content too fast, commenting fast and so on.
One way to have this issue fixed is to wait for them (TikTok) to resolve it by themself; this usually takes about 48 to 72 hours.
However, if this does not work, do check out other options as listed above.
